MATERIAL PLANNER

Regular Full-Time
Corporate Headquarters, Indianapolis, IN, US

Summary:

Materials Planner responsibility includes developing and executing the plan to obtain materials to meet customer demand. They will have system responsibility including, but not limited to, maintaining all MRP data, forecasting, planning, and data entry.  The Planner will have additional support responsibilities to include reporting, tracking, managing and resolving open orders to ensure commitments for shipments are met.

Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain all product data: supplier contacts, transit time, lead time

  • Provides Forecast to Supplier

  • Tracks Purchase Orders/shipment ETAs

  • Places Purchase Orders

  • Planning all daily and weekly execution

  • Escalation of reoccurring issues for resolutions

  • Manage return shipments for Overstock/Obsolete Items

  • Creating supplier scorecards on performance reports (on-time delivery, errors, corrective action, capacity)  - only against top suppliers – list TBD

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers and request Corrective Action Process when needed

  • Ensures all in bound suppliers’ paper work is complete and correct. International: COA, SDS, Invoice, BOL, Packing Slip; Domestic upon request

  • Follow-up on expedited and essential orders as requested by supervisors

  • Define forecasting process improvements across the supply chain

  • Investigate and resolve material issues/shortage root cause investigation and resolution.

  • Communicate with customer services, sales and manage planning issues: backorders, damage, non-conformance and shipping delays

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Activities

  • Understand manufacturing and market forces

  • Support organizational goals and objectives

  • Analyzing Inventory Control


Education:

Qualifications Required: Bachelors Degree or greater, Finance or Accounting is preferred
Qualifications Preferred: 3 to 5 years in a supply chain analyst or materials planning role


Skills: Strong analytical skills, problem solving capabilities, good communication, interpersonal, organizational skills.

Microsoft Skills:  Must have strong excel skills including VLookup and Pivot tables
Training: Will be provided Excel & in-house computer system training as needed.
