Strategic Sourcing responsibilities include leading contract negotiations, drive cost savings initiatives and implement strategic sourcing best practices.  This role is expected to develop strategic business relationships with external suppliers and internal business leaders as well as other internal key stakeholders. Implement and operate best in class practices for sourcing our direct spend.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages relationship with Strategic Supplier

  • Jointly Establish Distribution Relationships with Suppliers with Sales Rep. 

  • Communicate contract terms and cost increases to sales with detail rationale as to why 

  • Analyze/Maintain the inbox

  • Develops and manage RFQs and final negotiations with Suppliers

  • Manages supplier communication & interactions

  • Tracks Industry Trend/Feedstock Trend Reports

  • Manage Supplier Reviews & SRM Work (Scorecard)

  • Management of Issues with Suppliers after escalated

  • Analysis of incoming logistics & end destination (and what is the cheapest/most efficient way to do it)

  • For new inbound freight rates to compare against delivered pricing from supplier

  • Negotiate and manage all aspects of cost (material + freight)

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and enforce supplier quality initiative

  • Develop procedures for procurement system: MRP, Min/Max, Forecasting, customer demands

  • Communicate everything required to achieve procurement excellence on agreed to periodic basis

  • Source & Screen New Suppliers


Required: Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field of study

Preferred: MBA with 5+ years successful experience in a global sourcing or purchasing environment

Skills: Outstanding analytical, negotiating and relationship skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills.   Project management experience—leading a cross-functional team to achieve a desired goal.  Self-motivated. Strategic Sourcing, Opportunity Analysis, and Contract Negotiations a must.
